The 2012 Chrysler 300 has been completely redesigned, but surprisingly that redesign did not include a standard V8. It did however include an upgraded powerful 3.6-liter engine and a new ZF eight-speed automatic transmission. Together creating 292 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque, this is 42 hp and 10 lb-ft more than previous models.

Both the mpg and mph have been improved by keeping the engine close to its power-band sweet spot, and paddle shifters that allow you to shift manually. The 2012 300 has an additional 6 mpg to get an EPA highway rating of 31 versus the older models 25. The exterior was updated to be more sophisticated, the interior more refined, and the cabin quieter. Chrysler specifically remodeled both the 300 S and the 300C models to ensure the Chrysler 300 has everything any driver is looking for.

The 300 S was stripped of any bright chrome and wood to appeal to a younger, broader spectrum of people. Instead body-colored accents have been placed on the fascia and mirrors, a black-chrome grille, black headlight surrounds, and polished aluminum wheels with black accents have all been added. The interior can be finished in either a crisp black or Radar Red leather with black carbon trim. Chrysler added an infotainment system displayed on an 8.4 inch screen and an audio system developed by Dr. Dre. The Beats audio system contains 10-speakers and 522-watts.

The 300 S models will be offered in multiple varieties: one option being an all-wheel drive model powered by either a 292-hp V6 or the 363-hp Hemi V8. If customers opt for rear-drive only they still have the option of either a V6 or a V8. The V6 models will come with the new ZF-sourced eight-speed automatic transmission, while the V8 models come with a five-speed automatic transmission.

The 300C executive series was designed to be lavish, offering only exotic materials usually found in Italian luxury vehicles. The C is available with rear-or all-wheel drive and only paired with a Hemi-V8. Inside you can find all the trimmings including your choice of either Mochachino or Black Poltrona Frau “Folingo” leather accents. The seats are stitched with Nappa leather in a two-tone color combo and the displays are finished by hand to accentuate its natural color of brown or gray wood. On the exterior the chrome trim was replaced and upgraded to platinum chrome and the standard 20-inch rims were polished to shine.

With all the models being upgraded, the Chrysler 300 is definitely worth a test drive. Head down to your local Phoenix Chrysler dealer or Scottsdale Chrysler dealer to learn more.
